VERY GOOD (VG): Shows signs of use, such as shelf wear, but has no tears or other significant damage to the binding or pages.
Good (G): An average, used, worn book with all pages present but with more obvious signs of wear, like minor water damage or bumping.
Fair: A significantly worn book, but all text pages and illustrations are present; however, it may lack endpapers, half-title, or title page.
